December 2003, I called Matt to invite him to come over to the house to watch a movie and he said he would. We watched the movie and sat around and talked. Before he left he asked me would I like to make this a habit and I told him I guess. We have been together ever since.
In 2005, we were talking and making plans to get engaged. Matt asked me to start giving him some ideas about the type of engagement ring I would like. I told him that was his decision. I told him that when he starts shopping and looking for rings he will know which was in the right one, that it will shine out from among all the other rings and when he looks at it and holds it he will get a warm feeling.
December 17, 2005, Matt had told me he was going to take me out for my birthday and for me to dress up that we were going to Red Lobster. I couldn’t understand why I had to dress up to go to Red Lobster. Matt turned left instead of turning right at the stoplight and I couldn’t understand why, well we ended up at Crown Sterling. I was a little upset (because I am not that good with surprises, but with God’s strength I am getting a lot better). We ate a delicious meal and after the meal he drove to Appomattox and we walked down Main Street looking at the Christmas Lights. We stopped at the end of Main Street in front of the train depot and he pulled me close, told me how much he loved me, that I mean the world to him, and he asked me would I marry him, and I accepted with tears in my eyes.
Family and friends have been asking when will we be getting married. Matt and I had set a date of October 6, 2007. But after I had to quit my job with J.T. Davis Insurance Agency due to health problems, we decided to push the wedding date back. Matt is currently employed with Adams Lumber and I have just started working with ezTel. We have decided once we can find a place to live that is affordable and I get situated at ezTel we will set a date. But like I said in the beginning it’s in the Lord’s time and not in ours.
We appreciate what everyone is doing. God works in amazing ways!
